Melissa, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9820 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 18, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.9493 yesterday. That is up from $3.8833 a week ago but higher than $3.7260 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9532, while the national average is $4.4687. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 26 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8547, drivers are paying about 113 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.9909 per gallon, AAA reported.
