The Houston Texans have signed cornerback Bryce Hall to strengthen their roster as they prepare for a preseason matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the signing on August 17, shortly after Hall completed a workout with the team.
At 28 years old, Hall has a background with the New York Jets and most recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, picked 158th overall. Over his career, Hall has started 26 of 40 games, recording 122 total tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, and half a sack.
His height of 6-foot-1 contributes to his versatility, and he is expected to enhance the special teams unit, an area the Texans are looking to improve.
Currently, the Texans are dealing with injuries in their secondary, affecting several players, including Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan, who are not practicing due to various health issues. These injuries pose a challenge for the team's special teams performance, making Hall's signing timely as he aims to provide necessary depth and experience.
Updates on the Texans' roster and injury situation are expected as the preseason continues.
