Melissa ISD opened the 2026-27 school year Thursday, and the first thing many families noticed was not in a classroom. It was on their phones.
This is the district's first year on Stopfinder, the bus app that replaced My Ride K-12. Access comes by an email invitation from the transportation department, sent to the address on file for each student's primary contact, so families who have not received one should check that their contact information is current.

Melissa ISD's registration cutoff carried a hard consequence: students had to be registered before Aug. 1 to ride during these first weeks. Families who registered later are scheduled to begin riding Sept. 1.
Eligibility covers students outside a two-mile radius of their school, and those inside it without a walkable path. The district's interactive zoning map, at melissaisd.org/zoning, shows the measured distance and route for any address.
