Baldwin and Riley Lead Offensive Surge
Nick Baldwin and Austin Riley delivered career-high performances, combining for four home runs to propel the Atlanta Braves to an 8-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday at Truist Park. Baldwin recorded five hits, including two long balls, while Riley added two homers of his own. The win improved the Braves' record to 57-41, while the Rangers fell to 50-49.
Early Braves Dominance
Atlanta established control early, taking a 4-0 lead by the end of the fourth inning. The scoring began in the first inning when Harris II hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Baldwin to score. The Braves extended their advantage in the second inning when Riley homered 416 feet to left field.
Baldwin doubled the lead in the third with a 395-foot home run to right center. Riley provided the final run of the sequence in the fourth, launching a 413-foot homer to center field.
Rangers Rally in Fifth
The Rangers responded in the fifth inning, scoring three runs to cut the deficit. Langford doubled to left field, allowing Lopez to score. Jung followed with a sacrifice fly to center, bringing Pederson home.
Burger then singled to left, driving in Langford with Nimmo reaching second base. The Rangers continued to apply pressure, but the Braves' pitching held firm enough to maintain a 4-3 lead entering the later innings.
