Baby-care locations, family restrooms and mobility rentals offer practical anchors for an opening-week outing.

A family arriving at the State Fair of Texas this week may need to find a baby-care room or pick up a mobility rental before choosing its first attraction. The fair's current service locations give visitors a way to build those needs into the outing from the start.
For a group traveling from Melissa with both young children and older relatives, the useful itinerary may be a small section of the grounds with the right facilities nearby. Covering more attractions is not necessarily the measure of a successful visit.
Care facilities come first

Family restrooms are listed outside the GO TEXAN Pavilion and inside the Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center, Embarcadero, Hall of State and Natural History building. A rental needs its own plan
The fair's rental information lists mobility scooters at $80 a day and wheelchairs at $30. Single strollers and wagons are $20; double strollers are $25. Advance reservations require at least 24 hours, and availability should be confirmed rather than assumed. Current rental information

That advance window matters during opening week: a rental planned for tomorrow is a different transaction from a same-day walk-up request. The posted rental terms also call for a valid state-issued ID. A family can settle the pickup arrangements before committing to a distant attraction.
