Nico Collins’ availability for Houston’s Week 2 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals remains unresolved after the Texans receiver sat out consecutive practices because of a hamstring injury. His official game status has not been announced.
The 27-year-old opened the 2026 season with seven catches, 75 receiving yards and one touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 defeat against the Buffalo Bills. Collins has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons.
Collins sustained the injury during Houston’s Wednesday workout and was absent again Thursday and Friday. NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that team doctors did not view the injury as serious. Ian Rapoport, speaking Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show*, said missing both practices reduced Collins’ prospects of playing, although he also described the hamstring issue as apparently not serious.
ClutchPoints.com reported that Collins might be able to return for Houston’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27 if he is unavailable against Cincinnati.
