Gabriel Brooks has switched his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, adding the North Crowley offensive tackle to the Horned Frogs’ 2027 recruiting class. Brooks announced the decision on social media Sept. 17, saying family discussions and personal prayer were part of the process. He also cited a desire to stay close to home.
Brooks, listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 265 pounds, had mainly received offers from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Stephen F. Austin and Southern University. TCU represents his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision program. Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are scheduled to play at Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU’s 2027 class, which sports.yahoo.com reported is ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 12.
