The Cowboys agreed this week to new contracts with Ryan Flournoy and Brevyn Spann-Ford, making commitments that could total $24 million before either player has delivered a breakout season. Both deals extend beyond 2026.
Flournoy’s one-year extension could pay him as much as $6 million and keeps him under contract through 2027. He had 40 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns in 2025, and a report said he is expected to become Dallas’ established No. 3 receiver. His size and athletic ability allow him to play all three receiver spots in the Cowboys’ 11-personnel sets.
The agreement could help preserve continuity among the top receivers if George Pickens leaves after the current season.
Spann-Ford received a three-year contract worth up to $18 million, with $12.075 million guaranteed, extending his stay through 2029. He joined the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted free agent and competed with Luke Schoonmaker for opportunities behind Jake Ferguson last season.
The moves differ from the Cowboys’ earlier practice of waiting for players to establish themselves, including in deals involving Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.
