Trevon Diggs, previously an All-Pro cornerback with the Dallas Cowboys, has officially signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to Adam Schefter from ESPN. This signing is the second cornerback addition for the Seahawks this week, following the controversial signing of Terrion Arnold, who is currently facing significant legal challenges in Florida.
At 27 years old, Diggs boasts an impressive record with 20 career interceptions and 63 passes defended. He is anticipated to compete for a role in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently managing several injuries.
Diggs had earlier secured a five-year contract extension worth $97 million with the Cowboys in July 2023. However, he participated in just 22 out of 51 regular-season games over the following three years. His departure from Dallas was marked by various incidents, including a peculiar home accident where he reported that a television fell on him, resulting in a lengthy absence in 2025.
After requesting to stay near his family in the Washington, D.C. area post a Christmas Day game, the Cowboys waived him when they denied his request. Shortly thereafter, he was picked up off waivers by the Green Bay Packers. Details regarding Diggs' future role with the Seahawks and the team's strategy for him remain undisclosed.
