Von Miller, the NFL's active leader in career sacks, has officially joined the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal. The announcement was made by Miller through an Instagram post, where he expressed his enthusiasm with the phrase, "Hereee Weee Gooo."
Miller, who hails from DeSoto, Texas, located about 25 minutes south of Dallas, has deep connections to the region, having played college football at Texas A&M. As he enters his 15th NFL season, Miller comes from a year with the Washington Commanders, where he tallied 26 tackles and nine sacks over 17 games.
A two-time Super Bowl champion, Miller won his titles with the Denver Broncos in 2015 and the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. He was selected second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Broncos and has also played for the Buffalo Bills.
With a total of 138.5 sacks, he ranks tied for 13th on the all-time list, sharing the spot with Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, a former Cowboy. Additionally, Miller has recorded 607 tackles, 271 quarterback hits, and 27 forced fumbles across 203 games, along with eight Pro Bowl selections and three First Team All-Pro honors.
The Cowboys will kick off their 2026 regular season on September 13 against the New York Giants in a Sunday Night Football game.
