SHERMAN, Texas - Jonathan Mark Fleming, 41, of Denton, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for committing three armed bank robberies in the Denton County area. U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced the sentencing following Fleming's guilty plea to bank robbery charges.
U.S. District Judge Richard Schell imposed the sentence on June 29, 2026. According to information presented in court, the crimes occurred between November 2022 and February 2023. During each incident, Fleming dressed in all black, wearing black gloves, ski goggles, and a mask while brandishing a firearm.
Investigators tracked the final robbery vehicle, a Dodge Ram TRX truck, to its original dealership. Records revealed Fleming had purchased the truck with a large cash payment and traded in a red Dodge Challenger, which he used during the first two robberies. A search warrant executed at Fleming’s apartment on February 23, 2023, led to his arrest as the sole occupant.
Officers recovered items seen in surveillance video, including a duffel bag, black clothing, a face covering, a gun belt, and ski goggles. Authorities also found a large sum of cash wrapped in bank bands, multiple firearms, and police radio scanners. Receipts indicated large deposits ranging from $19,000 to $40,000 into various bank accounts. Fleming stole approximately $450,000 in cash during the robberies.
