Big V Property Group and The Seitz Group are scheduled to break ground on Rosamond Town Center in Anna, Texas, on Tuesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the southeast corner of Rosamond Parkway and Highway 75. Executives from the two development firms, along with Principal Asset Management and Citizens Bank, are expected to attend. Anna Mayor Pete Cain is also listed among the attendees.

The new open-air shopping center will span 355,826 square feet and will be anchored by Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx. The project includes several outparcels and specialty stores. It serves as a complementary development to Rosamond Crossing, a nearby 175,300-square-foot site currently under construction. Rosamond Crossing is anchored by Kroger and will include Bank of America and McDonald's.

Together, Rosamond Town Center and Rosamond Crossing form a 750,000-square-foot complex in Collin County. The development is a joint effort by Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, and Principal. Anna is located approximately 5 miles north of Melissa.

Jeffrey Rosenberg, chairman and CEO of Big V Property Group, stated that construction is beginning nearly one year ahead of the original schedule. He described the partnership with The Seitz Group as a way to expand the firm's expertise into new construction. Kenton McKeehan, president and chief investment officer of Big V Property Group, said the project aims to create a dense retail core to serve Anna and surrounding communities.

The Seitz Group has developed 51 retail centers totaling 8.8 million square feet over 33 years. Big V Property Group owns and manages 23 shopping centers. The Anna projects represent the first ground-up developments for Big V Property Group.

Eric Seitz of The Seitz Group noted that the rapid timeline reflects the need for quality retail in Anna and along the Interstate 75 corridor. He cited regular announcements of new housing developments in the area. The U.S. Census Bureau recently ranked Anna as the fifth fastest-growing U.S. city with a population of 20,000 or more. Three neighboring cities, Celina, Princeton, and Melissa, were ranked first, third, and fourth. Collin County, where the centers are located, saw population growth of 12% from 2020 to 2023, reaching nearly 1.2 million people. The median household income in the county is $117,000.

Big V Property Group already operates six properties in Texas, including RIM and Alamo Ranch in San Antonio, Glade Parks in Euless, Deerbrook Marketplace in Humble, Fairfield Town Center in Cypress, and Southpark Me. Further details regarding specific lease terms or final completion dates were not provided.
