Canzone’s Offensive Surge
Dominic Canzone was the driving force behind the Seattle Mariners’ 6-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. Canzone accounted for four of Seattle’s six runs, launching a three-run home run in the seventh inning and later adding an RBI double. His performance helped Seattle overcome an early deficit and secure the win at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Scoring Sequence
The Rangers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Adolis Duran hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Andrew Heaney to score. The Mariners tied the game in the third inning when Corey Seager singled to left field, bringing Marcus Semien home.
Seattle took the lead in the fourth inning. Josh Jung singled to right field to score Kyle Higashioka, and later in the same inning, Nathaniel Lowe reached on an infield single to second base, scoring Jung and moving Higashioka to second.
The Mariners extended their advantage in the seventh inning when Canzone homered to right field, a 400-foot shot that also scored Evan Carter and Young. Arozarena followed with a solo home run to right center, also measuring 400 feet.
The Rangers attempted a comeback in the eighth inning when Duran hit a home run to left field, a 420-foot blast that cut the deficit to 5-3. However, Seattle’s lead held firm until the ninth inning, when Canzone doubled to right field, driving in Seager to make the score 6-4.
