Pederson's Homers Lift Rangers Past Mariners 7-3

Pederson Powers Rangers Offense

Joc Pederson provided the offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, hitting two home runs to help secure a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday at Globe Life Field. The win improved the Rangers' record to 54-52, while the Mariners fell to 52-55.

Pederson’s first home run came in the top of the first inning, a 418-foot shot to center field that gave Seattle an early 1-0 lead. However, the Rangers quickly turned the momentum in the second inning.

After a 395-foot home run to center field by Seattle’s Arozarena tied the game at 1-1, Pederson delivered a three-run blast to right field (347 feet) in the bottom of the second, putting Texas ahead 4-1. This home run also drove in Lopez and Díaz.

Rangers Extend Lead in Third

The Rangers continued their offensive surge in the third inning. Seattle’s Rodríguez hit a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Emerson to score and making it 4-2. Duran then homered to left-center field (436 feet), extending the lead to 5-2.

Burger followed with a two-run home run to left-center (403 feet), scoring Carter and pushing the margin to 7-2. The Rangers’ five-run third inning proved decisive.

Pitching Highlights and Late Scoring

Texas Rangers pitcher Kumar Rocker earned the win, pitching 6.2 innings while allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits and striking out 7 batters. He was supported by Robby Ahlstrom, who pitched 0.1 scoreless innings, Jakob Junis, who pitched 1.0 scoreless inning, and Jacob Latz, who pitched 1.0 inning allowing 1 earned run.

Seattle’s George Kirby took the loss, pitching 4.0 innings and giving up 7 earned runs on 7 hits with 3 strikeouts. Jose Ferrer, Michael Rucker, Cole Wilcox, and Alex Hoppe pitched scoreless innings for the Mariners, with Hoppe striking out 3 batters.

In the ninth inning, Seattle’s Crawford hit a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Naylor to score, making the final score 7-3. The game drew an attendance of 27,683 spectators.
