Bradford sets the tone
The Texas Rangers defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-0 Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with Cody Bradford working 4 1/3 scoreless innings.
Bradford allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five. Texas pitchers held San Francisco scoreless across the full game, with Tyler Alexander earning the win to move to 2-2.
Alexander pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowed no hits or walks and struck out three. Robby Ahlstrom pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Chase Silseth also worked one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Cole Winn pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and recording no strikeouts.
Four-run third breaks it open
Texas did all of its early scoring in the bottom of the third inning, turning a scoreless game into a 4-0 lead.
Nimmo started the scoring with a single to right that brought home Langford. Foscue followed with a triple to left, scoring Nimmo and Burger to make it 3-0.
Díaz added a double to left that scored Foscue, giving the Rangers a four-run inning and a 4-0 lead.
Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 3 1/3 innings.
