Robert Garcia secured the win for Texas, pitching a perfect inning with one strikeout. Nathan Eovaldi provided the bulk of the starting effort, allowing one earned run over 2.2 innings while striking out two batters. Jacob Latz closed out the game with a scoreless 1.1-inning appearance that included two strikeouts.
For Arizona, Brandon Pfaadt took the loss after giving up six earned runs on ten hits in 6.2 innings. He struck out seven but struggled to contain the Rangers' offense once the fifth inning began. Derek Law pitched 1.2 innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out two.
Game Flow
The Diamondbacks took an early lead when Smith singled to left field in the third inning, driving in Tawa to make it 1-0. The score remained tied at 1-1 entering the fifth inning for Texas.
The Rangers broke the deadlock in the bottom of the fifth. Langford homered to left center, measuring 435 feet, to tie the game at 1-1. Immediately following, Díaz singled to center field, allowing Burger to score and giving Texas a 2-1 advantage.
Jung followed with a single to center, bringing Díaz home for a 3-1 lead. Nimmo then doubled to right, scoring Seager from second base to extend the margin to 4-1.
