Baylor University has officially added Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano highlighted Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached notable rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has achieved 52 singles wins, including significant victories at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments.
In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals on five occasions, with appearances at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three different draws at the 2025 W15 Luan, as well as another quarterfinal finish at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
The Baylor women's tennis team finished the 2025 season in the 34th position in the ITA Year-End team rankings, which marked their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th trip to the second round. The season also featured four players selected for the All-Big 12 team, three victories against ranked opponents, and two athletes qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
