Dallas elevated cornerback Reddy Steward from its practice squad and added linebacker Barron to the 53-player roster before facing the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. Barron had played in the previous game under a temporary elevation from the practice squad. His promotion gives Dallas more linebacker depth with DeMarvion Overshown sidelined.
The Cowboys placed safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve because of the foot injury he sustained against Washington. He is expected to miss four additional weeks or more under the designation. Safety Malik Hooker, who has a fractured forearm, is also unavailable.
Overshown has a hamstring injury, while cornerback Cobie Durant was ruled out with a hamstring issue. Durant, who had started, was hurt during Dallas’ Week 2 win over Washington. Linebackers Jaishawn Barham and Dee Winters were injured in that game but finished it.
Steward saw substantial defensive action for Dallas in 2025 as a nickel cornerback and also took occasional snaps at safety. His versatility gives the Cowboys another secondary option alongside safeties Jalen Thompson, Caleb Downs, Markquese Bell and Alijah Clark. The Dallas Cowboys’ official website reported the moves.
