Baylor football has released its first depth chart for the 2026 season as they prepare to face Auburn. The team, located about 100 miles from Melissa, Texas, has established its starting lineup and backups for both offense and defense.
DJ Lagway will take the helm as the starting quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy serving as backups. Dawson Pendergrass is positioned as the primary running back, with Caden Knighten, Michael Turner, Ryelan Morris, and Jacorey Watson backing him up.
The wide receiver lineup features Louis Brown IV alongside either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter, while Gavin Freeman is slated as the slot receiver, with Jayden McGowan providing support. Matthew Klopfenstein will start at tight end, supported by Tony Livingston, Hawkins Polley, Parker Almanza, Kai Wesley, and Brody Wilhelm.
On the defensive side, Kyler Jordan or Jordan Mack will start at defensive end, while Devonte Tezino or Kamren Washington will occupy the defensive tackle position. The nose tackle role will be filled by either Hosea Wheeler or Jamaal Whyce Jr. Travion Barnes is set for the MIKE linebacker position, with Kyland Reed at WILL, and either Ryan Davis or Garrick Ponder at JACK.
In the secondary, the cornerback positions will feature Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. Colby McCalister or Tyler Turner will serve at free safety, while Devin Turner or Jacob Redding will take on strong safety duties. For special teams, Rhett Armstrong is designated as the kicker and punter, with Dylan Schaub as the long snapper.
