The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entire 2026 season following a torn ACL injury. This injury occurred during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins, who was selected 34th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a successful rookie year, making 41 catches for 525 yards and scoring six touchdowns. He became a crucial target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.
In the 2025 season, Higgins recorded 41 receptions from 68 targets, particularly increasing his target share during Houston's impressive nine-game winning streak to finish the regular season. He notably scored four of his six touchdowns in the last nine weeks and achieved his best yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.
With Higgins unavailable, the Texans will rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to step up in the receiving lineup. The team remains optimistic about Tank Dell's potential return from injury later in the season. No additional details regarding Higgins' recovery timeline have been disclosed.
