Trent Brown returned to practice Thursday for the Houston Texans, while wide receiver Nico Collins missed another session before the team’s Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Collins has now been absent for four straight practices since suffering his injury, including two this week. The available report gives no further details on his status.
Brown, a right tackle, had missed the previous practice while dealing with wrist and knee injuries. He has opened both of Houston’s regular-season games at the position and could remain the starter Sunday if his progress continues. His return comes after the Texans chose him for the role when Braden Smith sustained a foot injury in the preseason.
Smith is on injured reserve for the season’s first four weeks.
In two games, Brown has been charged with eight pressures, four penalties and one sack. Blake Fisher and Nate Thomas are listed behind him among Houston’s tackle choices. Fisher was selected in the second round in 2024, and Thomas arrived in a trade completed during roster cutdowns. Brown’s participation gives the Texans a possible return to their regular right-tackle starter against the Colts.
