Ali Gaye, a defensive end with the Houston Texans, has suffered a serious knee injury during a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers. An MRI has confirmed the injury's severity, indicating that Gaye will require a lengthy recovery and possibly a medical procedure, according to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson on August 27.
At 27 years of age and standing 6 feet 6 inches tall, Gaye weighs 265 pounds. He initially came to the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2023 following his time with the Tennessee Titans. Over his career, he has made nine tackles and recorded one sack.
Gaye was anticipated to add depth to the roster, supporting established players Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
This setback adds to the Texans' increasing list of injured players, particularly among their defensive ends, raising concerns about the team's overall depth as they pursue a successful season.
