Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, did not see action in any of the team's preseason matchups. Along with Schultz, both wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery were also absent. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited participation in the game versus the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he recorded a career-high of 82 receptions and amassed 777 receiving yards, which was his strongest showing since his 2021 season with the Cowboys, when he achieved 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entirety of the 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be significant targets for Stroud as the season progresses.
