The TCU Horned Frogs have announced a football game against the Northwestern State Demons, scheduled for September 2, 2028. This matchup will occur at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU has agreed to a $600,000 guarantee for Northwestern State's participation in the game, as revealed through a public records request.
This will be the second time the two teams meet on the football field; their first encounter was in 2001, where Northwestern State triumphed over TCU with a score of 27-24 in overtime.
Currently, the Demons, who compete in the Southland Conference within the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), are led by head coach Blaine McCorkle and have begun their season with losses against Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.
With the addition of Northwestern State, TCU has finalized its non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. Before facing the Demons, TCU will kick off its season at home against Louisiana on August 26 and then travel to Duke on September 9.
While the Big 12 Conference has not yet announced specific conference opponents for that year, TCU is anticipated to have five home games and four away games. Additionally, Northwestern State is set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
