The Cowboys will be missing four defensive players Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil: DeMarvion Overshown, P.J. Locke, Malik Hooker and Cobie Durant. Three are defensive starters. Locke, Dallas' third safety and a key reserve, also will miss a Baltimore offense led by Lamar Jackson at quarterback and Derrick Henry at running back.
None of the four practiced during the week or traveled to Brazil. Overshown has a hamstring strain, and Hooker is recovering from a fractured forearm. Both injuries came in the season opener against the Giants, and both players sat out Dallas' Week 2 win over Washington. Overshown directs the defense as its signal caller.
Team executive vice president Stephen Jones said Overshown and Hooker might be able to return for the Week 4 matchup at the Houston Texans. Neither has received clearance to play, and no indication was given that either is likely to return. Durant, who has a hamstring injury, and Locke, who has a foot injury, are not expected to be ready for Houston.
Dallas finished among the NFL's bottom three defenses in total yards in 2025 and currently ranks 29th out of 32 teams after two games this season, according to Heavy.com.
