Oziyah Sellers has joined SMU’s men’s basketball program and enrolled at the school, the university announced. The fifth-year guard is taking part in team practices as SMU awaits a ruling on whether he is eligible to play. No timeline was provided for that decision.
Sellers started 36 games for St. John’s during the 2025-26 season, producing 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. The Red Storm went 30-7 and captured the Big East championship. Before that, Sellers played at Stanford in 2024-25, starting every game and averaging 13.7 points in the ACC.
He spent his first two college seasons at USC under SMU coach Andy Enfield. Sellers has connected on 37.8% of his three-point tries for his career, including a sophomore-season best of 42.9% from long range at USC. He has made 86.9% of his free throws. SMU is entering its third season with Enfield, and its 2026-27 transfer group was rated No. 21 nationally by On3.
