Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte held a press conference to discuss his recent trade from the New England Patriots to the Houston Texans, occurring one week after the move. He expressed his initial thoughts about joining the Texans and explained his reasons for leaving New England.

During the offseason, Boutte requested a trade, seeking a more significant role on the team. The addition of two new players, Romeo Doubs and A.J. Brown, played a crucial role in his decision. Doubs signed a four-year deal valued at $68 million, while Brown was brought in through a trade that involved first- and fifth-round draft picks.

These changes in the Patriots' roster affected Boutte's position, leading him to be placed as the fourth wide receiver in training camp, behind Doubs, Brown, and DeMario Douglas.

Although he had a solid 2024 season, recording 42 catches for 719 yards and seven touchdowns, he faced concerns about his potential inactivity on game days, which was highlighted by head coach Mike Vrabel after the preseason finale.

Boutte responded to Vrabel's comments by stating that he did not perceive them negatively, viewing them as a straightforward evaluation. He emphasized his focus on advancing his career with the Texans, without elaborating on his future role with the team.
