The Houston Texans have made significant roster adjustments as they gear up for their season opener against the Buffalo Bills. A total of 22 players have been waived, including prominent figures such as quarterback Brett Rypien and wide receiver Zay Jones.
Among those released are Lewis Bond, a wide receiver from Boston College, and Dominic Bailey, a defensive tackle from Tennessee. The team has also let go of linebacker Caleb Johnson and tight end Brevin Jordan, who both have considerable league experience.
Additionally, the Texans have parted ways with cornerback Bryce Hall and safety George Odum. They have traded center/guard Jarrett Patterson to the San Francisco 49ers and acquired tackle Nathan Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys.
Several players have been placed on the Reserve/Injured list, including safety Ja'Marcus Ingram and wide receiver Tank Dell, both marked for return. Defensive end Ali Gaye is also on the Reserve/Injured list, while linebacker E.J. Speed has been assigned to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. These changes come as the Texans prepare for their matchup at Reliant Stadium.
