The Houston Texans have made notable changes to their roster, releasing rookie defensive tackle Dominic Bailey. This decision occurred after the team added quarterback Mark Gronowski and center Gavin Gerhardt to their practice squad on September 8, as reported by KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson.

Bailey had a brief stint back on the practice squad after being cut during the final roster decisions to meet the 53-player requirement. In addition to Bailey, the Texans also let go of Ka’ena De Cambra, who was signed just a week prior on September 1.

Gronowski, previously a quarterback for the Dolphins and Hawkeye Football, joins the Texans' practice squad. Gerhardt, a seventh-round draft selection from 2026, is recognized for his leadership and football intelligence. He started 49 games during his college career and is expected to enhance the team's center position.

The Texans' offensive line now features Gerhardt, Evan Brown, Jake Andrews, and rookie first-round pick Keylan Rutledge. The team is focused on further developing Gerhardt's skills, as he was drafted for his game understanding and alignment with the team's culture. The full implications of these roster changes remain to be seen.
