As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the start of the 2026 NFL season, they are fortunate to have a roster that is largely injury-free. However, two players are currently dealing with injuries that may affect their availability for the season opener.
Defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard is recovering from an abs/groin injury. He was observed participating in rehabilitation activities as of September 1, indicating a possibility of playing in the first game, though he may require more time to heal fully.
Additionally, guard Ajani Cornelius, who has shown potential during training camp, missed practice on September 2 but was also seen doing rehab work on September 1, suggesting he could be ready for Week 1, pending his recovery progress.
Furthermore, the Cowboys have moved linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore to injured reserve. Liufau sustained a fractured forearm that necessitated surgery, while Moore is contending with a hip injury, having previously dealt with groin problems. Both players will be unavailable for at least the first four weeks of the season. Updates on Bullard and Cornelius's conditions are anticipated as the week unfolds.
