The Texans could have Nico Collins back when they play the Cowboys in Week 4. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Collins has a reasonable possibility of returning to the lineup after missing Houston’s Week 3 game with a hamstring injury.
Collins has appeared in one game this season, Houston’s Week 1 loss to Buffalo. He made seven receptions for 75 yards and scored a touchdown. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud has guided the Texans to the playoffs, and the team reached the postseason last year before falling to the New England Patriots.
Dallas is also waiting on updates in its defensive backfield. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke will not all be available for the Cowboys’ Week 3 game against Baltimore in Brazil, and their status for the Texans matchup remains unknown.
Dallas is using DaRon Bland and Shavon Revel at cornerback and ranks 17th in pass defense at 218 yards allowed per game. Caleb Downs has contributed in the secondary, though the source said the group has more work ahead. The source also raised the possibility of Dallas acquiring Pittsburgh cornerback Joey Porter Jr., without reporting a completed trade.
