The Dallas Cowboys are considering additional help at safety after Jalen Thompson suffered a hamstring injury. Executive vice president Stephen Jones said Thompson is likely to miss at least four weeks, but no potential players or teams were identified as possible targets.
Dallas is scheduled to face the 0-3 Houston Texans next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time in Houston. The Cowboys entered the season’s third game with a 1-2 record and have dealt with recent defensive issues, including a strong offensive performance by the New York Giants in Week 1 and late production by Marcus Mariota in Week 2.
Thompson was hurt in Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. The Cowboys appeared close to forcing overtime late in the game, but Baltimore completed a long pass and then made a field goal to win.
