The Dallas Cowboys are managing injuries across their defense before visiting the Texans, who remain without a win. Jonathan Bullard is expected to miss three to five weeks with a calf injury, and safety Jalen Thompson is facing at least four weeks out because of a hamstring problem. Bullard also missed most of training camp with an earlier injury.
The injuries occurred during Dallas' loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that cornerback Shavon Revel was progressing well and might return to practice this week. His potential availability against Houston in Week 4 has not been settled. DeMarvion Overshown, who has missed two games with a hamstring injury, could also begin practicing this week.
Cobie Durant is not expected to travel to South Texas while recovering from a hamstring injury. Malik Hooker, who fractured his forearm in the season opener, may need more time. Thompson could join safety P.J.
Locke on injured reserve with a designation to return. Dallas has worked out several players, including former Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas, as first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker addresses the depleted safety group.
