Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is set to miss the team’s game with Louisiana Tech because of an ankle injury. A report from Pete Nakos of On3 Sports says Lagway is progressing toward a potential return when Baylor faces Colorado on Sept. 26, but it does not establish that he will play.
Lagway was injured during Baylor’s 17-16 defeat of Auburn in the season opener. Sources told On3 Sports that the junior quarterback sustained a high-ankle sprain. Coach Dave Aranda had characterized Lagway’s condition as day-to-day earlier in the week.
He was absent from Baylor’s following game, a 44-3 win over Prairie View. The Bears will play Louisiana Tech before beginning Big 12 competition against Colorado and coach Deion Sanders. ClutchPoints reported that the schedule for Lagway’s comeback is still unclear beyond the indication that he is making progress toward the Colorado matchup.
