Dallas could be without four defensive players against the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sept. 27. Cornerback Cobie Durant has a hamstring strain, while safety PJ Locke tore the plantar fascia in his foot. Both are expected to miss multiple weeks, though the team has not decided whether to place either player on injured reserve.
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, also dealing with a hamstring strain, and safety Malik Hooker, who has a broken forearm, have not been cleared to return after missing the game against Washington. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said their availability could be hard to determine during the shorter week, with Dallas’ first official injury report due Sept. 23.
Linebackers Jaishawn Barham and Dee Winters are doing well after a stinger and shoulder issue, respectively, and might not be listed.
Owner Jerry Jones has also indicated he could spend to strengthen the team. After the Washington victory, he said, “There is nothing more dangerous than an old man with money.” He later told 105.3 The Fan that the comment referred to possible football additions and praised defensive tackles Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark.
Dallas is scheduled to leave Sept. 24 for a 10-hour flight to Rio de Janeiro.
