This gap follows recent cancellations, including Mississippi State ending a two-game series without penalty due to SEC scheduling changes. North Carolina State also exercised a buyout for a 2027 game in Lubbock, and Texas Tech bought out a 2027 road game against North Texas.
For the years 2027 through 2029, the Red Raiders currently have two non-conference home games scheduled. Financial guarantees for these matchups range from $300,000 to $1 million. The 2030 season opener is set against Arkansas in Las Vegas on August 31, with Fresno State hosting one week prior.
Other long-term adjustments include moving a home game against Arkansas to 2034 after the schools agreed to play in the Vegas Kickoff Classic. A road game at Oregon was shifted from 2024 to 2033 to preserve the rivalry matchup between Oregon and Oregon State that year.
