Tayven Jackson has been selected as the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green ahead of their season opener against Indiana University on September 5, 2026. Jackson previously played for the Hoosiers and has experienced a diverse college football journey.
In 2022, he had limited playing time at Tennessee before appearing in 13 games for Indiana in the 2023-24 season, where he recorded a completion percentage of 61.2% alongside six touchdowns and six interceptions.
After transferring to the University of Central Florida in 2025, Jackson completed 63.5% of his passes for a total of 2,151 yards, achieving ten touchdowns and eight interceptions, contributing to the Knights' 5-7 season.
Before his collegiate career, Jackson excelled at Center Grove High School, where he amassed 4,813 passing yards and threw 47 touchdown passes from 2018 through 2021, leading his team to an undefeated championship in Class 6A. Tayven Jackson is also the sibling of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who was honored as Indiana's Mr. Basketball in 2019 and is currently in his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.
