Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway has been cleared by the team's medical staff to play against Colorado at McLane Stadium in Waco. He has been out since the Sept. 5 game with an ankle injury, following an earlier forecast from coach Dave Aranda. Baylor and Colorado both entered the matchup at 2-1.
Nate Bennett will serve as the backup after starting the past two games. He completed 75% of his passes for 567 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions in those starts, while adding 15 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Baylor also has defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler, wide receiver Jadon Porter and defensive back Devin Turner available.
The Bears will be without wide receiver Ashton Jones, safety Jacob Redding, offensive lineman Cayden Tone, cornerback Jamarion Richardson and defensive lineman Devonte Tezino.
Colorado has ruled out six players: linebacker Colby Johnson, wide receiver Danny Scudero, tight end Charlie Williams, defensive lineman Vili Taufatofua, cornerback Preston Ashley and offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter. Scudero and Williams have combined for 94 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown this season. Offensive lineman Xavier Payne remains a game-time decision.
