Melissa Mazan has been named the interim dean of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. The appointment follows a long tenure at the school, during which she held several significant leadership positions.
Her previous roles included serving as the associate dean for professional education and the associate chair of clinical sciences. She also directed the Isaam M. Fares Equine Sports Medicine Program at the Hospital for Large Animals. Additionally, Mazan led the Tufts Equine Bronchoalveolar Lavage Cytology Laboratory.
Mazan initially joined the Cummings School as a veterinary student. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed an undergraduate degree in history at Yale University. The announcement does not provide further details regarding the duration of her interim appointment or the timeline for a permanent search.
