City officials in Valley View, Texas, are urging residents to conserve water due to a malfunction at a city water well. Repairs commenced on Thursday and are anticipated to last one to two days.
While the reserve water tanks are currently at capacity, officials emphasize the importance of limiting water usage to maintain adequate supplies for household needs, public safety, and emergency services throughout the repair process.
To support this effort, the city has enacted several restrictions. These include prohibiting lawn watering, filling swimming pools or hot tubs, washing vehicles except for essential public safety or commercial reasons, and cleaning driveways and paved areas. Residents are advised to refrain from any unnecessary water use.
Cooke County Emergency Services indicated that although contractors expect repairs to take one to two days, this timeline could change. They do not foresee any boil water notices at this moment but will provide updates if necessary. Officials reiterated that avoiding unnecessary water consumption is crucial to prevent further complications.
Princeton is about 8 miles southeast of Melissa.
