The recently released season 15 of "King of the Hill" on Hulu highlights the connection between the fictional town of Arlen and Richardson, Texas. The series, which returned on July 20, includes ten episodes and has already been renewed for two additional seasons.
Co-creator Mike Judge has previously acknowledged that Arlen was modeled after Richardson, where he lived during the 1990s while developing the show. Although Arlen is a blend of various Dallas-area suburbs, its essence reflects the characteristics of Richardson, including wide streets and backyard grills.
This season draws a more direct link to Richardson by featuring the University of Texas at Dallas, located on West Campbell Road within the city's Telecom Corridor. Notable North Texas landmarks also appear, such as Hank repairing the Big Tex arm at the State Fair of Texas and a cameo by Whataburger.
In the storyline, Hank and Peggy navigate retirement on Rainey Street, while their son Bobby, now an adult, runs a fusion restaurant in Dallas and aims for a spot on a reality cooking show. The voice cast includes returning members like Mike Judge and Kathy Najimy, and the show's fictional schools reflect local culture with names honoring Dallas Cowboys figures.
