The New York Yankees defeated the Houston Astros 9-3 on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The game featured a back-and-forth first half before New York took control in the second half. Final records stand at 75-57 for the Yankees and 66-67 for the Astros. Attendance was 40,269.

Scoring Sequence

The Astros struck first in the top of the first inning when Jose Altuve doubled to center, allowing Carlos Paredes to score. Pitching and Final Inning

In the eighth inning, the Yankees added two more runs. Alex Bregman homered to right, scoring Trey Lance, to make it 9-3. Elmer Rodriguez started for the Yankees, pitching six innings while allowing three hits and three earned runs with two walks and six strikeouts. Paul Blackburn pitched one inning, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts, earning the win. Michael Fulmer and Tim Hill each pitched one inning without allowing hits or earned runs, with one strikeout each.

For the Astros, Peter Lambert pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs with three walks and five strikeouts. Kai-Wei Teng pitched one-third of an inning without allowing hits or earned runs. Bennett Sousa pitched one-third of an inning, allowing five hits and four earned runs with one walk and one strikeout, taking the loss.
