Imai’s Dominant Outing
Tatsuya Imai anchored the Houston Astros’ victory with a sharp six-inning performance that kept the Miami Marlins’ offense in check. Imai allowed just one earned run on four hits while striking out eight batters. His outing earned him the win, improving his record to 6-4.
He was supported by a bullpen effort that included AJ Blubaugh, who faced three batters in the seventh inning, and Bennett Sousa, who pitched a perfect eighth. Josh Hader closed the game in the ninth, securing his 11th save of the season by retiring the side in order.

The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the fifth inning when the Astros exploded for three runs. After Stowers doubled to center to score Lopez in the top of the frame, making it 1-2, Paredes homered to left field on a 388-foot drive. The blast cleared the bases, bringing home Peña and Alvarez to give Houston a 5-1 lead.
Earlier in the game, the Marlins had taken an early 2-0 lead. In the first inning, Peña homered to left center, a 405-foot shot that initially was called out but was overturned upon review. In the second inning, Spence doubled to right field, allowing Wade Jr. to score and putting Walker on third, extending Miami’s advantage to 2-0.
