Dak Prescott established a new Cowboys franchise mark as Dallas defeated the Washington Commanders 37-20 at AT&T Stadium. His 24-yard fourth-quarter throw to CeeDee Lamb gave Prescott 249 career touchdown passes, moving him past Tony Romo’s previous record of 248. Prescott finished with 26 completions, 279 yards and four touchdowns, without an interception.
Lamb had eight catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Jake Ferguson caught the other two scoring passes, while Brandon Aubrey made field goals from 25, 44 and 60 yards. Dallas led 20-13 early in the third quarter when rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham knocked the ball loose during a Washington screen play.
Dee Winters recovered inside the Washington 20, and Prescott connected with Ferguson for a 12-yard touchdown two plays later. Winters and Caleb Downs each made nine tackles, and Barham had seven.
Washington gained 389 yards, including 182 on the ground, but scored 20 points and committed one turnover. Dallas had none. Safety P.J.
Locke left with a foot injury on Washington’s first series, and cornerback Cobie Durant departed with a hamstring injury, according to the AP. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels injured his left elbow on the half’s final play. Coach Dan Quinn said imaging found no fracture, and Marcus Mariota finished.
